How to Install and Operate AVG Anti-Virus (Free Version)

Download and Installation

Download the AVG installer from http://free.avg.com.

Click "Get it Now" then,

click the download button on the left side of the page.

Click "Download now"


Click "Download now", yet again.

sometimes in IE it comes up with a security bar. Just click on it and click "Download File...

To save some time we will just "Run" it.
Note: If you are more experienced with computers, you can "Save" the file and run it from the saved location.

Then click "Run". After it extracts, you will see these:

Click "Next", "Accept", and "accept" on the 3 install screens. It should be self-explanatory from there.

Operation

This is the GUI.

As you can see, it is very easy to use.

Outside of the GUI, you can scan files by right-clicking it and selecting "Scan with AVG Free".

That's it! Now you know how to run AVG!
