Commands for the Uno Bot
Don't know how to play uno? Click here!
How to start a game of IRC Uno:
Just use the "!uno" command. You can also use the optional parameters: "poweruno" and "throwcards" for some neat variations. These commands can also be used together. (Example: "!uno poweruno throwcards").
What does the poweruno option do?
Power uno is a variation of uno where there are twice as many power cards (R, S, D2, WD4, W) as regular uno.
What does the throwcards option do?
The throw cards option is similar to the game Uno Attack except whenever the player has to draw it shoots out a random number of cards, from 0-9.
How to play IRC Uno:
There are 5 basic commands in this version of IRC uno:
- !join adds yourself to the current game.
- !addbot adds the Uno game bot to the current game of IRC Uno. (Useful if there is no-one to play with)
- !play color number plays the card you specify. Example: You want to play a yellow 2. To do that do: !play y 2 using only the first letter for the color. For wild cards just substitute the color of the card for the color that you want. Let's say that you have a wild and want to change the color to green, here is the command that you would do: !play g w. Same thing with the wild draw 4 card.
- !draw is used when you don't have any cards to play. Basically just like you were drawing from a real uno deck.
- !pass is used when you've drawn a card and you still can't play. This advances play to the next player.
- !showcards will show you the cards that you have. If for some reason your client is not configured to get notices you can always see your cards by doing the command: !showcardspm which will show you your cards in a private message.
- !quit removes yourself from the current game.
There are also some other cool commands that you can do during the game to find out some statistics:
- !nextturn will show you who is up next, as long as you don't play the reverse card.
- !count shows you how many cards everyone has.
Of course there is the enevitable game of uno that drags on so long that no-one is interested. To end a game of Uno just do: !unoend and the uno bot will end the game.
What do the letter cards do?
- [d2] = Draw 2. Makes the next player draw 2 and then skips that persons turn, or in the throwcards variation it makes the next player draw a random number of cards.
- [r] = Reverse. Reverses the order of play so that whoever went right before you will now be next.
- [s] = Skip. Skips the next player's turn.
- [w] = Wild. With a wild card you can change the color to whatever you want.
- [wd4] = Wild Draw 4. Same as a wild card except the next person draws 4 cards and is skipped.
That's it! Now you know how to play IRC uno.
